As you may or may of not seen in my last post that on the night of our arriving at the campsite both mine and Ki’s phones went into alert. Apparently it was an area warning for Tornadoes. It turns out there were five and we were smack bang in the middle of the madness. Then the heavens opened and all that was dry moments before was now underwater.
Now i know the picture doesn’t do what I said justice but it was enough for us to book a last minute motel. When we arrived for check-in the general sense of the place was that its seen better days and defiantly an improvement over tornadoes. We went to the lady in the window and the smell of cannabis in the air along with smash windows and broken doors made us want to turn back into the storm. Turns out they couldn’t check us in due to,ironically, no running water! We made our best disappointed faces and swung for another that was 30 miles away but closer to New Orleans, our next destination. I forgot to mention. We visited a few flea markets in the area. A kinda mix of a car boot sale and farmers market. Very cool! We wondered the stalls looking for something and came back with only some comics I insisted on buying.
We also went to our first all you can eat buffet meal while being told to take cover in basements etc. English people are definitely either stupid or brave in the face of certain destruction. By the way, American all you can eat buffets are mad massive in portion size, simply crazy in size. Three plates and we were done. Go to run, in New Orleans and about to go on a paranormal investivation. Happy Halloween everyone
