Day 7

Today was a chill day. Not much planned really. We hit a few markets, went to a mall and did the ice-cream parlour thing, checked out the beach and visited the USS Alabama. This was actually really fun. They had a submarine, battle ship and various other planes and tanks to look at. This kind of visit is something both of us like. We only had an hour so it was a bit heightened but fascinating. Pics below.

The food here is amazing, mostly unhealthy and not badly priced. To say we’re getting though a vast amount of junk food would be an understatement! I’ve decided to write a more detailed blog of thoughts and images when I get back, doing more on my phone is a pain but these posts will offer a slice of what we’re up to.

We got to our campsite rather late, named Davis Bayou Campground its a state park reserve. We set the tent up, read comics purchased from the market the day before and slept well. We did buy some throws from a discount store called Rainbow. We needed them that night so good thing we had them. A racoon invaded or pickup, looking for grapes I think and a bear rustled through our rubbish bag on a tree but left obviously disappointed as no food was in it.

Our camping spot at 6am!

Then we were off to New Orleans. That was a real blast! Need a shower so will leave you with a taste of our ghost hunt experience.
